Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) - The Movie

Rurouni Kenshin's Biography:

Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story, also known as Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The fictional setting takes place during the early Meiji period in Japan. It was published in 1996 and later evolved into anime series in USA, 2006.

Recently, it moves to make into a film, which is going to be released on 25 Aug 2012 at Tokyo, Japan.

Apart of many things that I am going to do during the holiday, this movie is a "MUST-WATCH" movie of the month. Although there are many other upcoming exciting movies in the market, but this one is my favorite. After watching the trailer, I am very excited about the release as some cut-scenes look alike in the anime / manga series. Even though I can't see it here in Singapore, I am still looking forward to watch it online during the holiday.

As for things that I am going to do in holiday - will not be reveal here as I haven't completed them. Best to keep them as "secrets" for now (LOL) !!

[Just be sure to stay tune for the rest of my blog posts after 28 Aug ~_~]

Entertainment Marketing Workshop

My friend, Jinan and I went to this workshop on Entertainment Marketing and Promotion, which was organized by the agency (CASS). Our lecturer, Ms Dora Chua helped us to register to it where we got a chance to expose to a whole area of marketing techniques that are very different from what we learnt in Year 1: Social media Marketing. The duration of the workshop lasted for 5 days, in which we need to prepare a marketing plan and presented in the 5th day.

Before the first lesson, we were called back by the agency's person-in-charge: Ms Pam Fang Ruiting. She conducted a briefing to us, so as to prepare ourselves to face the professor and other necessary rules and regulation in the workshop. She differentiated both of us into 2 separate groups, so as to give us a chance to work with new people and gain good teamwork experience.

Professor's Bio
The professor who taught us the entertainment marketing is Prof Cory O Connor. He worked for Watt Disney for 20 years and another movie company for another 20 years as the President of Marketing and Promotions. After that, he retired and is now working as a university professor 5 years ago till now.

Here are the group photos after our presentation on the 5th Day of the workshop:

Throughout the 5 days of the professor's teaching about Entertainment Marketing, Jinan and I learnt a lot from him. We also made some new friends with the students from the agency and as well as Prof Cory himself in classroom and in twitter. We were very grateful of what we learnt from them and hoped that we could go to the agency again to learn new things. :-)

NEGC 2012

What and Why is NEGC?

NEGC stands for National Education Gaming Competition and it is the first formal gaming competition that Nexus, MINDEF in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, is organizing to engage youths.

The NEGC is a fun and engaging way for youths to discover what the Third Generation SAF is about. It also allows youths, especially the boys, to learn about defense and National Service before enlistment.

Virtual Battle-space 2 (VBS2) is the official game used in NEGC. It is a PC-based virtual simulation training software used to train soldiers in the SAF (the game-play is similar to counter-strike but with add-ons such as stamina system and real-time responsive Multi-player platform).

SP DMIT - Team 1

We had 20 players (students from different diploma in DMIT) altogether and the lecturer in-charge separated us into 2 teams - Team 1 and Team 2. I was belong to Team 1 (Team Marauders).

The team leader, Danny Lim Deyuan aka Boey managed the team and gave us the roles, according to our interest and strength in the game. Not only that, the friends who are in the same class as him also gave us (from Year 1 to Year 2) valuable advice as well.

In the process, we managed to defeat a lot of teams from secondary schools. But, in the end, we lost to NYP (who is the current champion). However, we somehow reached to Top 16 and received the cheque of $500 & a Top 16 trophy.

As a team, even though we lost, it is the friendship and cooperation that each member made and contribute in the end - which is the most precious one.
