League of Legends: A Twist of Fate

Last night, when I was looking for new ideas for my new videos on YouTube. I found out a new video uploaded by Garena Online Private Limited.

It was a very interesting video and fun to watch, as it involves many champions in a 4 minute plus video. Not to mention of all the powers involved, the action and transition in between the sequence is pretty unique and simple to understand. In addition, this video hits a total of 10 million views in just 4 days.

Furthermore, I also found out that this video is to promote their upcoming release of new maps into their gaming server: League of Legends. If you do not know about this game, check out my previous blog entry here.

However, the story of this blog post does not end here ...

Back to the first sentence that I mentioned, I downloaded this video and try ways to edit. After that, I upload into my channel.

You will think that the edited version is almost the same as the original. But think it this way, from the way I see it, it is another piece of video for me to test my video editing skills and also the ways to improve my pool of ideas.

But the most important of all, it's to kill the time !!

Office bullying in Singapore

Normally, I will not blog about such stuff that I got from Facebook. However, recently, this video somehow stirs everyone in Singapore to be fed up about this incident.

As you can see in the video below, the supervisor with the spectacle kept on hitting and slapping the person on the chair. However, the young man kept on staring at him and tried to reason his way out after being hit by the old man so many times.

Let's assume the young man is your closed ones or worst still your son, being bullied by an outsider for not giving him any chance to speak out, is totally unforgiving in a lawful country.

On May 18, this video was shared across Facebook with 2,685 shares and 660 likes by SMRT Ltd (Feedback) and followed in which an article was published onto the newspaper the next day as shown below.

Newspaper article uploaded by EDMW loves Singapore

Last but not least, a comic art to "discourage" office bullying in Singapore !!

[Advertorial] Kaplan Higher Education Academy Blog Campaign

Thanks to omy.sg invitation, I was able to blog about this campaign organized by the Kaplan Higher Education Academy (KHEA).

Here is the picture that I took with the Kaplan's mascots, after my lecture !!

Good-looking guy & girl (mascots) that'll be giving out flyers about Kaplan

About KHEA

Kaplan Higher Education Academy (KHEA) provides full-time education to students who wish to pursue a variety of diplomas and degrees, ranging in the disciplines of Accounting & Finance, Business & Management, Communication & Media, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Humanities & Social Sciences and Information Technology.

In today’s competitive climate, KHEA recognizes the need to condense course syllabus based on the acquired abilities and prior learnings of students therefore for a Poly diploma student, a degree can be earned within a span of 12months-18months, depending on the approvals from the respective universities.

KHEA partners with 6 top universities worldwide to ensure quality education and students at Kaplan receive the same degree parchment as students who study in the overseas university. KHEA, through Kapan Singapore has also won consecutive public voted awards such as JobsCentral Learnings and Rankings Survey and AsiaOne People’s Choice Awards.

Upon receiving this flyer from one of the mascots standing near the entrance of Singapore Polytechnic, I found it quite interesting. As a poly student like myself who have not graduated yet, I cannot make any assumption whether this academy is good or not.

However, after seeing the programs that they provided onto the flyer, it somehow stirs up my intention of considering this academy as one of my choices for university studies.

Last but not least, do check out the good looking guy & girl that'll be giving out flyers about Kaplan. You can take photos with them (will be uploaded onto FB, you can then like their page and tag yourself for a chance to win shopping vouchers). You can also upload and tag your photos with them on Instagram with #KaplanSingapore to stand to win. The top 3 most liked photos from now till 15 June will win $250 shopping vouchers, with terms and conditions apply. :-)

Have a question for Kaplan? They have a useful inquiry form here!

Get myself DRUNK at Holland Village

Just like the title said it itself, I was somehow "accidentally" got myself drunk after many years for not taking any alcoholic drinks, except for some special occasions like celebrating and etc.

Here is the story - quite a small one actually of how I got myself drunk :-P

Storytelling session

Richmond invited me to go for a dinner at Holland Village because I waited him to discuss on a project and helped him to take care of Michelle (his unofficial girlfriend). This was to celebrate for the 1st successful matching and fee collection from his start-up company, Buddy Tutor.

We went into this restaurant, which Richmond worked as part-time before. I ordered a set meal (salmon) and a glass of white wine. Richmond and Michelle ordered a plate of pizza and a drink of soda with ice-cream (I think). We ordered ice-cream cakes as the desserts.

Richmond & Michelle shared this drink together

Michelle wanted both dishes to be taken together

My set meal (dinner)

Above - it's mine
Below - Richmond and Michelle

The menu named this as "cookie monster"

After the dinner, my glass of white wine still had around 8% of it. So, I forced myself to take 3% more to be left till the half glass. Thus, I told them that I cannot continue - because I know that if I continue to drink the rest of it, my skin problem would most likely "explode".

Instead of letting it go to waste, Michelle picked up my glass and drank a mouthful of portion (around 3 to 4%). She told me that she's feeling cold to be sitting under the air-con, plus Richmond kept on telling her that the wine can keep warmth to oneself.

~ LOL ~

On our way home in MRT, Michelle reminded me of my blushing-red face and I kept on telling them that #IamNotDrunk. But, the most amazing part of this story was that Michelle was the one who insisted that she's not drunk, despite that her arms and legs were covered  in "red". Her drunk status was more "funnier" than I was in. For instance, she would use Richmond as a punching bag and etc.

[Not approiate to list her drunk behavior]

Anyway, that was an enjoyable night and the most fun with them had yet to come !! :-)

The Result of Malaysia General Election 2013

The vote counting for the General Election 2013, Malaysia, dragged on for several hours with numerous incidents of high tension and minor violence.

As at 2am, the Barisan Nationals have won 124 seats and the Pakatan Rakyat have won 73. Barisan Nasional cannot form two-thirds majority because opposition already has enough seats to block out that possibility.

Due to the unexpected result, a lot of Malaysians started this social media campaign by replacing their profile picture like this:

In addition, they even created this video to "mock" the votes count during the blackout.

In my personal opinion, I don't have any objection towards BN or PR. After all, it is the peoples' choice to decide their future. Happy or sad, we just need to adapt it somehow for the next 5 years. Well, let's just wait and see how this event is going towards !!

The Best PSY's GENTLEMAN Parody

If you've read my previous blog entry: Gentleman by PSY last month, you'll most likely to be interested in this post as well. This is because I managed to collect the best GENTLEMAN Parody and dance steps for our Singapore Version :-D

The original video of the parody is very near to perfection and this was by far, my hardest editing because it was hard to find any loopholes for me to match any other clips for it.

Enjoy !!

Dinner at Ministry of Food

We were celebrated Richmond's birthday at Ministry of Food, Lot 1 Shopping Mall last night, alongside with his going-to-be girlfriend, Michelle.

We had the birthday cake in Singapore Poly during lunch time ~ consider this dinner was my birthday gift to him, since I didn't know what to buy for him. :-D

My set meal

My favorite side-dish: chawanmushi

Richmond's Ramen

Michelle's set meal

As for the dessert, we ordered Icy waterfall as it contained 8 different flavors of scoop. I liked the taste of 5 flavors: chocolate, black sesame, strawberry, green tea and vanilla.

Also, you can just mix and match between each scoop to get a different sensation of tasting experience throughout the whole session. It is strongly recommended if you ever want to try the desserts at the Ministry of Food :-)

Last but not least, a close up photo of the couple !!

Michelle & Richmond
Wish them to have an enjoyable night yesterday and as well as getting their relationship to a "confirm" status, ~ LOL ~ :-)

[Aftermath] Kiyomi = Gwiyomi

If you've read my previous post on Kiyomi = Gwiyomi a few weeks ago, you should roughly know the reasons behind it when I'm going to write this post.

As long as people type "Singapore Gwiyomi" in the YouTube search, you'll be able to see my video in the 1st position of the search list. Because it goes so much viral, YouTube has declared my video as the official one :-D

Furthermore, my video has also been listed as the music in the main category of YouTube. :-)

As the saying goes: "Advertising is based on one thing - happiness. You have to make your client happy." Therefore, I came out this video to these new groups of subscribers and people who have liked my current-trending video ~ another sensation :-)

Hope that this video can help to bring a new trend in this month of May !!

[Sponsored] Fashion Event: Levi’s 501 Interpretation Event @ ION Orchard

I was invited by omy club to attend this fashion event at ION Orchard B4 event hall and thanks to the sponsor, 8 Days Magazine. Alongside with the rest of the bloggers and Mediacorp celebrities (Felicia Chin, Tosh Zhang, Ian Fang and Xu Ya Hui), we helped to promote the latest products on LEVI'S 501 ~ an exciting and entertaining event for the public to get enjoyable moments.

My 1st time doing motion picture :-)

Here is a brief timeline of Levi's before we proceed on to the main event !! You might be complaining that why I bother to write this short history, but if you read this closely till the end, then you might change your thoughts for a second :-)

* * *

When Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis partnered in 1873 to patent their copper riveted waist overalls – as jeans were first referred to - for the miners and cowboys of the American West Little did they know they know that their blue jeans would one day become one of the most classic fashion items of all time.

Born from the need of stronger waist overalls, the XX jean had copper rivets at the point of strain. Levi Strauss and his business partner Jacob Davis, a tailor, received the US patent for their product on May 20th, 1873 which is considered the birth date of the blue jeans, Levi’s® 501® jeans.

These first pair of blue jeans featured a cinch and buckle on the back of the waistband, which along with suspender buttons kept the pants in place no matter what kind of rough work their owner was doing. The Arcuate stitch design on the back pocket has been a feature since Levi’s® 501® jeans were first made, making it one of the oldest clothing trademarks in use today.

In 1886 the Two Horse leather design was added to the back leather patch to further identify the brand. With the evolving needs of each generation, design features were altered and updated. For example, in 1922 belt loops were introduced as men started wearing their pants with belts. In 1936 the distinctive Red Tab was placed on the right back hand pocket to further differentiate Levi’s® jeans from imitators and then in 1971 the big ‘E’ in Levi’s® was changed to a small one.

No other product has been interpreted, styled or re-imagined as much as Levi’s® 501® jeans - they have shaped and influenced the fashion world as we know it today. Over the years not only have they become one of the most revered items of clothing – having been titled Time Magazine’s ‘Fashion Item of the 20th Century’ – they have become part of the world’s visual landscape, its cultural heritage and the quintessential foundation of wardrobes around the world.

* * *

Levi’s® 501® jeans hold a seminal place in fashion history and over the last 140 years have developed into a cultural icon. From presidents to movie stars, rock stars to fashion icons, and artists to pioneers in technology – Levi’s® 501® jeans are among the most worn and loved jeans in the world.

This Spring/Summer 2013, the Levi’s® brand is marking the 140th anniversary of its iconic 501® jeans by introducing a non-denim Levi’s® 501® collection for the first time. Breaking with tradition, yet maintaining the product’s true essence and timeless spirit, the three-piece non-denim collection is available in true chino, chalk blue and mineral red. The brand will also unveil the next generation in Levi’s® 501® jeans, which feature subtle and thoughtful changes to the design aesthetic, tailoring the product for the pioneers of today.

Throughout the ages, Levi’s® 501® jeans have constantly evolved and adapted to stay relevant to each new generation, while never losing their distinct heritage. The next generation of Levi’s® 501® jeans and non-denim pants, give the wearer a slightly tighter silhouette, more comfort around the waist, feature slightly larger pockets to store your latest Smartphone, and have a shallower yoke for a cleaner aesthetic. They also feature stronger stitching and reinforced belt loops, inseams, buttonholes and cuffs. Craftsmanship and authenticity remain at the forefront, which is why Levi’s® 501® jeans also improve with age – molding to the contours of the wearer's body over time and creating a bespoke fit and finish for this perfect classic and timeless jeans.

After the brief introduction of the Yes 933FM's DJ, Ivy Tan, this was the brief introduction of each celebrity that came on that day. (See the video below !!)

A very short interview with Ivy to the 4 guests ~. ~

The first activity was to let the celebrities to help their fans (chosen by the host from a crowd of audience) to get the allocated jeans from a pile of racks within the time limit. Apparently, the fan with the orange shirt was the winner in the end. :-)

Latter, the fashion designer, Steve was introduced and came to give suggestions to the celebrities on their current style and gave some recommendations to the public. :-)

The second activity was to let the celebrities to freely customize their assigned models, using LEVI'S clothes to mix and match and with the help of Steve, they were managed to create different styles and unique ways to present their fashion taste.

Before letting the models go down to the stage to collect the votes from the public, they need to be conducted a short runway with the celebrities. ~ LOL ~

Calculating the number of stickers (votes) collected !!

Ta-DA ~ here's the winner !! :-)

Before I conclude this blog post, here's an exclusive clip that I managed to take down Tosh Rock's favorite move-set: break-dance. Note that, this is to dedicate to some of the Tosh's fans out there as one of the purpose for whom did not go down to this event. :-)

As what I know so far, Levi’s® is a brand that epitomizes classic American style and effortless cool. Since their invention by Levi Strauss & Co. In 1873, Levi’s® jeans have become the most recognizable and imitated clothing in the world – capturing the imagination and loyalty of people for generations. [Did U Know?] Chopsticks - Made in China

Recently, I came across this video on Facebook that talked about the production of recycled chopsticks produced from China.

After watching the video, the only conclusion that I felt was plastic forks and spoons are bad for the environment, which affect us negatively in the end. I think carrying our own washable metal chopsticks may be better. Although I myself also do not know whether the metal ones are also being produced like this process or not...

And, that is for all who are interested to dig the info out !!

One of my favorite blogger "idol" that I like: Sandy !!

Taken from Ziwei aka Sandy's Facebook
The objective is to make everyone feel captivated in the space of music. To achieve that, the performers have to be technically sound and authentic in expressing the music in them.

In this Masterclass conducted by Mr. Amos Teo, the HPT managed to transform instantly, breaking the barrier to present their very best. This interactive session also gave the audience a chance to give their honest feedback which also helped the performers in their growth.

(Information quoted from one of the posts in Hark Music Facebook Page)

When I was asked by the Hark Music director about her singing skills, I answered truthfully (don't know whether it's good / bad). She almost stunned and fainted...

[MTV] Gentleman by PSY

After his successful MTV video, Gangnam Style, last year, here comes his 1st release MTV this year: Gentleman sang by PSY. :-)

As you can see, this MTV looks somehow familiar because those are the related scenes that we know of before 13 April.

Some examples of scenes such as:
- Running Man (Korean Variety show)
- Gangnam Style
- Harlem Shake
 - April's Fools Prank videos
And so on...

Nonetheless, I still found on this new MTV since its first release on YouTube today. Let's hope that this MTV can bring another great hype in 2013. Before closing this blog post, here is PSY's 2012 most trending video: Gangnam Style !! :D

Kiyomi = Gwiyomi

Recently, I have came across a very interesting video :p

In just 1 week, it hits about 1.5 million views !! It's going to be the next trending Korean song in YouTube ~ I'm sure of it..

If you like to know the origin of this song, please refer here for more details.

After that, I started my "hunt" for any Kiyomi videos in Singapore and compiled them into my own favorite Kiyomi Collection :-)

Here are the other 2 recent blog entries that I wrote regarding Gwiyomi:

Thank You

It's been 6 weeks since I've worked in my internship. I found many interesting stuff, besides working. Besides the tasks that I offered to help with my daily activities, people that I work with, projects that I'm involved in and as well as experiences that I picked up during this period, has kept me learn a lot of things that I won't learn in school (including good / bad things).

* * *

But no matter what, I still need to thank them through this post. Including some other colleagues that I seldom interacted with them :-)

If I have the chance  to work with them in the future, I hope that she's still there.

Noelle Mikazuki at CNOS 2.0 Finals

CNOS 2 = Cineleisure Next Online Sentational Version 2.0

I went to this event because Ms Noelle has been my idol since the end of 2011 when she was in the Kira Candy Girls Group. She is the only Cosplay girl that I admire the most out of the 11 girls. After that, she "graduated" and left the group, and is now working as one of the Cosplay maids in meido cafe (latest info ~ if not wrong).

[Cos I heard that she wants to start a small business, alongside with a group of friends]

^
^
^

Not confirm yet !!

Besides her overall appearances, she is actually a very nice and friendly girl who takes singing as her passion. This time round, Ms Noelle suffered a sore throat ~ which kinda delayed her usual performance (because she sometimes will release some album covers to her YouTube channel).

Due to my shyness and indecisiveness, it took me a lot of time just to capture this picture #EpicFail :-O But, nonetheless, I'm still managing to take 1 picture with her using her mobile phone.

Maybe I have not blogged for quite a while and I almost lost the sense of that feeling to approach with new people and taking pictures ~ cos I'm more towards in gaming and video-recording nowadays..

Here is her performance on stage that I have recorded !!

Her "powerful" singing almost shakes the whole stage when she was singing the chorus part, because I could feel the electricity through all the audience while I was recording it !! :-O

V
V
V

In addition, I also went on to record Ziwei Sandy and his partner Clinton as well (the urge of video-recording told me that I need to record this part - in which I don't know why)

I separated the whole process of CNOS 2 into 2 parts:

~Judges Intro; Runway walk (catwalk); Peishi's interview ~

~ Prizes Giveaway to the winners ~

Here are some blog links that I have located:

Maybe you'll be able to know more details about this event through the links that I have searched so far !! They are also the participants for the event as well. As for me, I'm just a follower of some of their blogs. So, don't blame for don't know of anything about this event :-)

Conclusion

Though writing this post kinda reluctant since there are many bloggers out there would have used some of my videos for their daily / weekly posts. And some of my blogger friends will be thinking why I'm writing it. This is because even though they can write how well the event is and helped me to share my videos out. They are unable to write down how I felt as a cameraman and as part of the audience.

Although playing a role as an audience / fans are quite small, but it is the audience and the people who came down to watch that really makes a difference in the overall performance a success. Only through the perception of the audience and because I was once an active blogger, I'm able to deliver the feelings of sweat and tears of every blogger who have participated and put on such efforts for the event.

Last but not least, I hereby congrats all the bloggers to have won themselves a big prize in the end. The prize doesn't mean you must win to get it.. it also means the experience and lesson learnt  that they absorb in the end !! :-)

[Gaming] League of Legends (Part 01)

I've been playing this online game for the past 5 months  !!

It's not that I'm pro in this game, just want to share all experiences I had in this game and some moments I have captured in the screen shot.

First of all, I play on Garena SG servers and my own 2 accounts. One is for playing my ranked games (LegendaryEmperor) and another is to train my (Player VS Player) PVP skills (Kelvin T YR). If you do not know what / how is league of legends been played, here is their official website.

Here are some recent screenshots that I captured every-time I won from a match :-)

Champion: Ashe
This champion is an ad-ranged carry. She used to play and can carry with tons of damage in the past. Because of her slow abilities, wide range of "radar" skill and a global ultimate move ~ makes her stand out differently from the other champions in the League of Legends champion selection.

Although her defense is lacking, especially magic resists, made her vulnerable against any champions to spar with her, she can recover those weaknesses by farming quickly and hit faster.

Therefore, I used to pick her as an ad carry / support to help my team to secure victory / kills and she is also one of my favorite champion :-)

Champion: Garen

This champion is an ad-melee tank fighter. He has not need of mana to carry out his attack. He has a strong armor and moderate magic resist. Although he moves slowly and not long-ranged, it is his ultimate that stands out, which also make him my 2nd favorite champion.

Therefore, I used to pick him as tanker / "meat shield" to cover some champions in my team who are low armor / magic resist.

Recently, I tried to get myself to use different champions in different team combinations and different kinds of strategic styles with different players I was grouped with. Thus, I trained to use Darius and Wukong. They are both semi-tank melee champions.

Darius is more towards a killer machine if used correctly / you can use it as a tank champion (like Garen) but with a bit more damage.

Wukong (As you all know, the monkey from Journey to the West :-D) is acted somehow the same way as Darius, but less damage and can easily escape from dangers.

Apart from all the pictures that I collected above into my photo album and in my Facebook page, I also added a promo video into my YouTube channel.

This video is produced by RIOTS (the team who created this game). They are to promote their game client can be downloaded to all MAC users. So, I edited a bit and cos I don't like the message near the end of the video (if you've seen the original from YouTube Search)

And that concludes my gaming on League of Legends in this post . . .

There might be other parts related-posts about League of Legends to come if I happen to be in the ranking list of this game. Oh well, who knows !! In the meantime, thanks for reading this post :-)
